Below is an explanation why Borg opted for the modular system: The Borg System Design Philosophy

Portability is an important factor in the Borg System design philosophy. Diameter of the telescope tube are not larger than necessary for the light path, this reduces the weight. However, no concessions are made to the rigidity of the whole. Telescopes that are lighter in themselves make travel easier, but it also translates into significantly less counterweight for the mount and less flexibility in the whole of the setup.
Borg telescopes can also be disassembled into short parts, so you can store the telescope very compactly or easily transport it in an airplane. Even the objective lens can be unscrewed so that you can take it with you in your hand luggage.

Modular design is a strong point of the Deposit System. Due to the modular system, many Borg components can be used in the various series in the Borg family, which also means that production costs can be reduced and the consumer price remains attractive.

The upgrading of products was another goal of Borg, which was partly achieved through the modular system. You can start small at Borg and improve step by step when the demand is there, even lenses can be applied to the rest of the system with minor adjustments.

Photographic/Visual design without any compromise was another concern for system designers at Borg. A full line of accessories is available for most of the used cameras on the market.
Because Borg has a huge collection of adapters, it is impossible for us to have them all in stock. At the moment it seems best to collect orders and then order this in one go. Prices can fluctuate due to this. the Japanese YEN fluctuated.
