ED lenses

Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, also known as color fringing, a visual defect common in binoculars. TrailSeeker ED delivers edge-to-edge sharpness with excellent color correction and pin-sharp images.

Not all ED glass is created equal. Celestron’s high-quality ED glass delivers visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars. The difference is especially apparent in low-light conditions, such as at dawn or dusk.

Coatings and Prisms on the Celestron TrailSeeker 10×32 ED Binocular

TrailSeeker ED features fully multi-coated optics and phase and dielectric coating on the BaK-4 prisms. Binoculars can be considered “fully multi-coated” when all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflective coating to allow the maximum amount of light to pass through the glass to the eye.

The prism in TrailSeeker ED is made of high-quality BaK-4 glass with both phase and dielectric coatings, so more light is reflected off the prism and passed through the eye. All in all, full multi-coatings and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for the brightest, most detailed images possible.

TrailSeeker ED is composed of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy. The sturdy, rigid frame is covered in rubber to withstand heavy use in the field. In addition, the binoculars are completely waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses. TrailSeeeker ED can withstand even the harshest outdoor conditions.

Viewing through TrailSeeker ED is comfortable for both spectacle wearers and non-glasses wearers, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. Rotate through multiple click stops to find the position that suits you best.

Perfect for a variety of uses

TrailSeeker ED has a narrow focus of only 6.5 meters, making it perfect for viewing birds, butterflies, plants or other subjects nearby. But these 8×42 binoculars also provide the magnification needed for great views of distant subjects, plus a wide field of view so you can easily track them as they move. No matter how you choose to observe, these versatile binoculars are an excellent all-round performer.

Ways to perceive

TrailSeeker ED includes both a neck strap and carrying harness so you can choose the option that is most comfortable for you. It’s also adjustable for a tripod, so you can mount it on any standard photographic tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping sessions. (Tripod adapter sold separately.) The binoculars also include a soft protective cover for storage or transportation.
